Website Proposal

Brand-aligned website design and build

Prepared forStacia and Ed Gowens, GPrime’ Partners
Prepared byJames Lewis
DateJuly 2026
StatusDraft, pending alignment meeting
How to read this draft. This is my starting point, built from your brand guide before we have talked through your needs. Our alignment meeting comes first. What you confirm, add, or remove there shapes the final proposal.

Overview

The opportunity

Your brand guide gives us a strong foundation. The visual system, voice, sitemap, and page-by-page framework are already defined. My job is to turn that direction into a live, responsive website: one that leads with your publishing and products today and leaves room for advisory to grow.

This proposal covers scope, timeline, investment, and ongoing costs. It offers two build options and two maintenance paths, so you choose the fit for your budget and goals.

See it before you read it

I built a working homepage concept from your brand guide so you can experience the direction, not just imagine it.

Notes on two rows above

Website copy is the fixed text on each page: the Home hero, the About story, the Publishing and Products intros, the Speaking pitch.

  • Essential: you write or send existing text from your brand framework. I edit for voice, tighten it, and fit it to each layout. You approve.
  • Complete: you send raw material (notes, bios, origin story, product details). I draft full page copy in your voice. You review and approve.

Content loaded at launch is the individual entries poured into templates: each book, product, and insight article.

  • Essential: I build the book, product, and insight templates with one sample entry each. You add your own entries after launch, using the training I provide.
  • Complete: you send details and assets. I load up to 5 books/products and 3 insight articles before launch, so the site goes live already populated.

Both options deliver a responsive, brand-aligned, launch-ready site. The difference is how much writing and content loading I handle versus you.

Which pages each option includes

Essential covers the six pages that carry proof and drive a sale, booking, or inquiry today. Complete adds Advisory and Insights, the two pages your brand guide stages for growth.

AdvisoryFolded into Home or AboutFull standalone page
InsightsNewsletter signup onlyFull article section, 3 posts loaded

In Essential, advisory appears as a short mention inside another page, and the insights section holds a newsletter signup without articles. This matches your guide’s direction to present advisory as selective and expandable. When you are ready to write articles and grow the advisory practice, we add both as their own pages.

Schedule

Timeline

Five to six weeks from kickoff to launch, working part-time. Milestones keep us aligned and give you clear review points.

WeekMilestoneYour part
1Kickoff, scope lock, asset and content gathering, project setupShare logo files, photos, book/product details, bios
2Home page and template designs built for reviewReview and approve direction
3 to 4Build all core pages, components, responsive layoutsReview at end of week 4
5Load content, connect form and newsletter, add purchase links, SEO and testingProvide any final copy and product links
6Final review, revisions, launch, and handoff trainingApprove for launch

Timeline depends on your responsiveness on assets, copy, and approvals. Delays on content move the launch date.

Running costs

Ongoing costs (paid by you, in your name)

I set up every account in your name, so you own your website, domain, and data. These are third-party running costs, separate from my fee. Most start near zero.

ServicePurposeCost to start
Domain nameYour web addressAbout $15 to $20 per year
HostingServes your siteFree on a business-friendly tier; about $20/month if traffic grows large
Email platform (Kit)Newsletter and signupFree up to 10,000 subscribers
Contact formsInquiry deliveryFree
AnalyticsTraffic reportingFree, or about $9/month for a privacy-focused option
Payments (Stripe), when sellingCard processingNo monthly fee. About 2.9% plus $0.30 per sale

Starting point for most months: the price of your domain plus payment fees only when you sell. You are not locked into a monthly platform bill to keep the site live.

Support

Maintenance: two paths

You choose how you want support after launch.

Path A: One-time handoff

$0 per month

  • I hand over the full site, code, and accounts
  • One training session so you and your team make edits
  • Written guide and a short walkthrough video
  • Future changes billed at $85 per hour, as needed

Best if you want full ownership and low fixed cost.

Path B: Care plan

$125 per month

  • Hosting and domain monitoring
  • Security and software updates
  • Up to one hour of content or design updates per month
  • Uptime checks and quick fixes
  • Priority response for questions

Best if you would rather hand off upkeep and keep the site current without thinking about it.

You start on either path and switch later.

Phase 1 boundaries

What Phase 1 does not include

Your brand guide stages advisory and commerce for later. Phase 1 follows that lead. These sit in a future phase, quoted separately:

Purchase links move buyers to a secure checkout for each book or product. This keeps costs low now and supports a full cart later as sales grow.

Your part

What I need from you

To hit the timeline, please gather:

For the Complete package, I draft the copy from your framework and you review, so you supply the raw details and approve the writing.
